Biblical Teaching for the Way We See and Live
180 Perspective is a Christ-centered biblical teaching ministry that examines how perception shapes Christian faith and life. It helps believers recognize what is shaping the way they see God, themselves, others, and the world—and live from the reality God has revealed in Jesus Christ.
Bringing the Pictures We Live From into the Light of Scripture
People live according to what they perceive to be true, even when that differs from what they say they believe. Relationships, experiences, religious teaching, culture, imagination, stories, and media all contribute to the pictures from which we live. 180 Perspective brings those influences into the light of Scripture so believers can understand what is shaping them and live within God’s design and purpose.
See God Through Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ reveals the Father. Scripture gives believers a true foundation for knowing God, trusting His character, and recognizing the reality of His Kingdom.
Live from What God Has Made True in Christ
When a person places faith in Christ, that person becomes a new creation. Renewal does not earn a new standing with God; it brings understanding, perception, and self-image into agreement with what God has already made true in Christ.
Recognize What Shapes the Way We See
Relationships, experiences, religious teaching, culture, imagination, stories, and media can shape the pictures from which believers live. Scripture brings those influences into the light of the reality revealed in Jesus Christ.
Dr. Steven E. Goodenough
Founder and Teacher, 180 Perspective
Serving the Church Through Christ-Centered Biblical Teaching
Dr. Steven E. Goodenough is a pastor, biblical teacher, author, and practical theologian. He founded 180 Perspective to serve believers, local churches, and Christian organizations through teaching, writing, speaking, community events, and practical resources for daily Christian life.
His teaching addresses knowing God through Jesus Christ, identity as a new creation in Christ, the reality of God’s Kingdom, renewed perspective, and the influences that shape Christian faith and daily life. He is especially concerned with the gap between what believers say they believe and the picture of reality from which they actually live.
“People live according to what they perceive to be true, even when that differs from what they say they believe.”
Dr. Goodenough holds a Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology from Gateway Seminary, a Master of Divinity in Homiletics, and a Bachelor of Science in Religion. He is completing doctoral work in Practical Theology at Liberty University with a specialization in spiritual formation.
His current dissertation research examines how platform-delivered streaming narratives are imaginatively received, how they shape perception and perspective, and how they participate in Christian moral formation. This work grows from the larger ministry concern of bringing the stories and influences that shape people into conversation with Scripture and the reality revealed in Jesus Christ.
Teaching and Resources for Churches and Daily Christian Life
180 Perspective serves through books, Faith in Five videos, Bible studies, workshops, community events, and speaking ministry. These resources address several dimensions of the ministry while returning to the same concern: helping believers see more clearly, live from what God has made true in Christ, and walk within His design and purpose.
